K-Kids Clubs

TRAIL WIND ELEMENTARY K-KIDS:
Trail Wind’s Pioneer K-Kid program is a whole-school creation and is the largest known K-Kid club with approximately 500 members. The basis of this program is that our children, teachers, staff, volunteers and parents all work together to show CARING, CONSIDERATION and COOPERATION.

The Trail Wind staff and Capital City Kiwanis Club recognize children who stand out and exemplify positive community values. We feel strongly that every child at Trail Wind can be a K-Kid, emphasizing K-Kids make choices that are positive and helpful. On Spirit and Pride Friday, the last Friday of the month, we have a K-Kids assembly where one or two students from each classroom (Grades 1-6) are honored as K-Kids of the month. They receive a certificate presented by a special guest from our community and their names are placed in the front of two new library books that are donated by Capital City Kiwanis! Kiwanis also provides supplies to teachers to assist them in making these awards. Honored students’ parents will receive a phone call inviting them to the assembly.

What is so exciting about our K-Kids program is EVERYONE WINS! Our goal is that our students will take pride in having tools they can use for more effective communication. Ask any child and he/she will proudly share what it means to be a TRAIL WIND PIONEER K-KID!
